Cascade Mail, operated by Salloq Software ("we", "us", "our"), is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Cascade Verify email verification service at verify.cascade-mail.com (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Full name
• Email address
• Company name (optional)
• Password (stored securely using bcrypt hashing — we never store plaintext passwords)

Email Addresses Submitted for Verification

When you use our Service to verify email addresses (individually or in bulk), we temporarily process those addresses to perform SMTP verification. We log the email address, domain, verification status, and score for your account history and analytics.

Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you use the Service, including verification counts, API usage, timestamps, and IP addresses for security and abuse prevention.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled by third-party payment processors. We do not store credit card numbers or banking details on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the email verification service
• Process your verification requests and deliver results
• Track credit usage and enforce plan limits
• Communicate with you about your account, including service announcements
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
• Improve our service, algorithms, and user experience

3. Data Retention

We retain your verification logs for a period of 90 days from the date of verification. After this period, individual email verification records are automatically purged. Aggregate usage statistics (without individual email addresses) may be retained for analytics purposes.

Account information is retained for as long as your account is active. You can request account deletion at any time (see Section 7).

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or the email addresses you submit for verification. We may share data only in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: Trusted third parties that help us operate the Service (hosting, payment processing), bound by confidentiality agreements
• Legal compliance: When required by law, regulation, or legal process
• Business transfer: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:

• All data is transmitted over SSL/TLS encryption
• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with a cost factor of 12
• API keys are generated using cryptographically secure random bytes
• Database access is restricted and regularly audited
• Server infrastructure is protected by firewalls and intrusion detection

6. Cookies

We use a session cookie to maintain your login state. This cookie is:

• Marked as HttpOnly (not accessible to JavaScript)
• Marked as Secure (only transmitted over HTTPS)
• Set with SameSite=Lax for CSRF protection

We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data and verification history through your dashboard
• Rectify inaccurate information in your account settings
• Delete your account and all associated data by contacting us
• Export your verification results in CSV format
• Object to processing of your data for certain purposes

8. Third-Party Email Addresses

The email addresses you submit for verification belong to third parties. By using our Service, you represent that you have a legitimate interest or consent to verify these addresses (e.g., for email list hygiene, signup validation, or business communication). We process these addresses solely for the purpose of verification and do not use them for marketing or any purpose unrelated to the Service.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on the Service or sending an email to your registered address.
